Re: Covid limit on carpet?

are you sure the limit wasnt 3 yards? 3 ft doesnt sound like much if anything

someone in your other thread linked miamicorp, checking their site it doesnt say anything about a limit and says there is 45 yds essex 1001 black in stock.

https://www.miamicorp.com/products/C...PET/ESSEX.aspx

they also have heel pads

They may be limiting you because of the width of the Essex carpet. It is usually 80" wide, if you order a few yards it makes for an oversized shipment.

We stock it at work 40" wide for this reason, avoids truck freight.

Try Miami Corp like Joedoh mentioned, but the shipping cost may be high.

Re: Covid limit on carpet?

Typically heel pads are sewn on. I'm sure you could have a local upholstery shop do it for you. They may be able to bind any edges of the carpet where it's needed also.

If you have a floor mounted dimmer switch, you may also want to order a dimmer switch grommet.

thats crazy, an 80x36 piece of carpet wouldnt cover squat in an ad, from memory with the seat riser out its like 57x60 needed.

also carpet folds pretty easy, any reason why you couldnt stock it in 80" width then fold in half and roll? I order mine with same size jute and it comes in a big roll, taller than me, for like 18 bucks shipping.

On my 48 I had a set of floor mats made out of the same carpet and the upholstery guy sewed the heel pad into the floor mat (not the actual carpet). I liked it this was as the floor mat will lay flatter to the carpet.

I also agree that the minimum order was probably 3 YARDS. That is how all of these places speak.

A lot of this stuff comes overseas and I the color I want from one manufacture is on backorder.

The world we live in I guess

Re: Covid limit on carpet?

Since this is the first Essex Plush capet link that shows up I have a feeling this is who Skip99 talked to. https://www.automotiveinteriors.com/...ge-s/17307.htm There it is bigger than Dallas, Limited to 1 yard. 36x76 isn't going to cover a lot of floor in any regular size vehicle.

That same pre-made carpet is a little less here, doesn't look like that will work with his tunnel.

https://www.stockinteriors.com/CSCar...037&ModelId=88

You can also buy bulk carpet from them, if Miami Corp didn't work out.

Missed the tunnel thing. Still only selling one yard of carpet at a time when a lot of vehicles are going to take 2-1/2 to 3 for a complete floor is a bit of nonsense. That probably has more to do with shipping ease than anything else.

I'd check and see if there was an automotive upholstery supply house within a reasonable distance. Then ask if they will sell to individuals. My buddy who did my seat and tonneau cover in my 48 took me in one in Waco Tx years ago that had rolls and rolls of upholstery material and I think rolls of carpet.

Check out Albrights Supply:

I've ordered from them multiple times with no issues, including last summer/fall. Fast shipping and fair pricing.

Re: Covid limit on carpet?

This Limo carpet is similar to the Essex.
https://www.yourautotrim.com/72wiplauca.html

I just ordered some from a local supplier for a side job I’m doing.

I started to install the Limo carpet in a Datsun this weekend. Definitely not as nice as the Essex but it will look good when it's done.

We have had several issues with Dorsett who is the manufacturer of this carpet. Did you try Miami Corp or Stock Interiors for the Essex?

I can contact our local supplier to see if they stock this in 80" if you're still having trouble. Multiple 3' pieces is going to be difficult to work with.

Stock interiors were the ones who say there is a limit
