Ford v Ferrari C10 Appearance - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

This is a great movie and was made even cooler (for me) when Carroll Shelby and Ken Miles were in a diner and a C10 sits just outside the window in the parking lot. They're talking about the GT40 project and the C10 is pretty prominent.

Here's a trailer, at about 4 seconds the C10 first appears, then again around 8 seconds. In the actual movie, the C10 is on screen for a fairly long time.

Its a wrap-around window, but don't know my C10's well enough to discern if its a 60, 61, 62, or 63.

I think there were more C10 sightings in the movie, but this one really stood out.

Looks like a 63 long fleet side small back window truck. I do plan to go see the movie.

I grew up in Bloomfield Hills, a suburb of Detroit and a popular spot for auto executives to live. I had a close friend next door whose father was the VP of design for Ford. As car crazy kids, we would get treated to all kinds of amazing hardware my friend's dad would bring home from Ford to "test drive".

When Ford was working with Shelby, he brought home AC Cobras. When Ford was courting Ferrari to buy, Ferrari's would be in the driveway. When Ford started selling Panteras, some De Tomaso exotic would be parked next door.

I called my friend after I saw Ford v Ferrari and he recalled a vacation his family took to the West Coast. One of the stops was Carroll Shelby's shop/hanger at the LA airport for his dad to do a little business. My friend got a ride on the runway in one of Carroll's cars.

You would think I would be a Ford guy, and I was in high school, owning a 428 Mustang. (My group of friends were gear heads and street raced every weekend on Woodward Avenue. In the mid 70's, thanks to gas prices, you could buy any used muscle car for under $1000.)

But my garage is all Chevy now with a 1963 C10 and a 1966 Corvette.

Great movie. I have thought that the seats in the GT-40 Mk 3, with the grommet ventilation, would look pretty cool in a '60s or '70s C10.
