Inner Tie Rod to Center Link Issue

Hey all- I'm hoping to get a little help with a steering linkage issue on my 67 with ECE 4/6 drop, power steering and disc brake upgrade which includes 63-70 2.5" drop spindles. All new tie rods but I believe I am using my original center link (I started this project in 2014).

The problem I'm having is the inner tie rod is loose in the center link. The bolt runs out of threads before it tightens up and it seems like the bolt is too small for the hole. Everything else seems to fit great. HELP, what am I missing?!

BTW - I have done a frame off on this truck and believe it or not this is the first time I have had to ask a question that I could not find the answer already posted on this site. Could not have done it without you all. Bravo!

Re: Inner Tie Rod to Center Link Issue

Are you sure you don’t have a 71-72 centerlink?

I am not sure. That is the one piece of this puzzle that I have no record of and I'm fairly sure it's because I used the original centerlink. Of course it could have been changed out by a PO but I can't imagine why. No power steering and drum brakes. Is there a way to tell?

Re: Inner Tie Rod to Center Link Issue

Sounds like you have the original center link with the 71+ tie rod ends. I think that would do it

Re: Inner Tie Rod to Center Link Issue

Maybe but I have the receipt for the tie rods and the part number indicates they are for a 67. I will see if I can find them both and compare. I was sure someone else had come across this issue. It's a good thing I love this truck of mine so much because she is maddening otherwise.
