Man, I think i've learned more on this board in the past week and a half than I could have in six months without it.
Thanx again for all the great info. My red is also my first project triuck, though I used to work on my own cars when I was younger and more desperate, and a lot is coming back to me. I also hope to make a father/son deal. My 12-yr-old is mostly into guitars and bikes, but he's gonna know from internal combustion engines and patience before I'm through. We're moving to the country in Washington from the silicon valley so we ought to have a good lot of time, space and good folks around to do this 69 up right. I've seen a couple of cutout fenders on the web, but I thinh I'll wait til I move to pick one up. BTW, that 402 of CTNE's...Is that 402 cc? My truck has a 327 that goes like a bat out of hell. I can't imagine what a 402 would do. |

It's a 402 Cubic Inch, basically a factory bored over 396. Here is the 2nd father-son project for my youngest, now 13. It will be a 350/3 speed manual on a 72 GMC leaf spring frame (disk brakes) with 67 sheetmetal (small window cab, no side markers) and a stepside bed. You're in the right area to find decent parts, here in New England it's near impossible to find anything decent locally. Have fun!

dtilly:
I saw that fender too. I thought about it, but figured it was an expensive ship, and I want to see it in person before I buy. There's got to be fenders up in Washington I can see after I move. Besides, It will give me a chance to drive around the state. :-]
