70 C10 SWB front wheel bearing dust caps
Just looking for a source for these dust caps; don't even know if they are original.
I've tried NAPA, Rock Auto, Advance, AutoZone, Federated, Brothers, LMC, Amazon, EBay and one Chevy dealership. Cap O.D. is approximately 2.05 inches where it fits in the rotor. Any suggestions are appreciated! |

Re: 70 C10 SWB front wheel bearing dust caps
ECE has them, just search for Dust Cap. I think they're the only place I've found them too.
http://www.earlyclassic.com/catalog.aspx Edit: just realized they're for 71-72. My 70 has 71-72 discs on it, so I was planning to use the caps from ECE, not sure they would work if your 70 has drums.

Did that set of 5 work I am about to order, Amazon has them 5 for $5. Dorman 618-102 is the part number.

Old subject but I thought I'd add my 2-cents worth. I found myself in the same situation trying to find these. Dorman 13977 fit right in the hub so you just have to bend them out slightly with pliers around the perimeter to make them fit snugly. Problem solved for under $13 Canadian (eh)!

Re: 70 C10 SWB front wheel bearing dust caps
Just another post to this old thread to confirm PDawg's reply with the Dorman 13977.
I came across this thread looking for the same information and after measuring and researching I figured I'd try the Dorman 13977 and picked up from Napa for $12.00. Measured the id of the hub with the vernier caliper and it was 2.050" Measured the od on these dust caps and they came out to 2.060 .... fit was absolutely perfect just tapped them in snug fit. Truck is a '72 GMC 1/2 ton 2wd. |

Re: 70 C10 SWB front wheel bearing dust caps
This is good to know, I ended up buying a pair of Mr Gasket chrome ones and lightly grinding the OD but I’m concerned that centrifugal force will cause them to come out or allow the grease to leak. I will pick up a pair of these, thank you for the info!

Re: 70 C10 SWB front wheel bearing dust caps
Bringing back an old thread.
I bought the Dorman 13977 caps for my 68 C10 but they were too big. Do the 68s have a smaller diameter? And if so any suggestions on what might fit? Thanks! |

Re: 70 C10 SWB front wheel bearing dust caps
Do you have disc brakes? These will not fit a drum hub.

Quick search revealed the following but I have not used them so I cannot say for sure they will fit:
