C10 LS swap driveshaft

Time to make this purchase! What are you guys using for driveshaft source? My truck is 4.5 inches lowered in the front and 5 in the back.... going to do the measurements for proper length this weekend.... just got coil overs installed. Is there a stock truck option? Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Re: C10 LS swap driveshaft

I got the correct yoke and rear flange and took it to a driveshaft shop and they made me one for about 300. pretty easy.

Re: C10 LS swap driveshaft

I would up grade to 1350 u-joints if you are going to run a higher horse power LS.

Re: C10 LS swap driveshaft

I had a single piece, 3.5” diameter driveshaft made for my build (it was right at 69”). LS u-joints are 1350, but the rear axle yoke is a 1310. I used a 1350/1310 u-joint at the rear. Note my truck is a longbed

Re: C10 LS swap driveshaft

With my swap I used a 2003 Tahoe two wheel drive 5.3 with 4L60E. I used the original c10 V8 motor mount perches and motor mounts and mounted them in the 6-cylinder mount frame/crossmember location (had to drill a hole in the crossmember for the lower mounting bolts). I used the LS Swap Motor Mounts Adapter Plates that allowed me enough adjustability to use the Tahoe drive shaft. I swapped out the rear U-joint to a 1310 to 1344 combination U-joint. I have approximately 3/4" trans to yoke play. A lot cheaper than having a new drive shaft made.

Re: C10 LS swap driveshaft

For my 65 swb with 5.3 4L60e swap I snooped the driveshaft rack at my local wreckers and ended up with a 3 1/2" driveshaft from a 2002 F150 2wd 5.4l 139" wheelbase truck. The front yoke on the shaft matched the 4L60e slip yoke. I cut the rear off and had a weld in yoke put in the back. It was just long enough.
