One Ton Tow Hook ?
Recently acquired these tow hooks which look to be a combination of the 73-80 " J "style hooks but with the 81-87 style curvature at the mounting end. A bit of searching has me leaning in the direction these are a 1 ton only option for the square body trucks. Can anyone confirm that thought, pics of same tow hooks mounted would be a BIG plus. I don't have a square one ton so at some point they will be hitting the parts forum section. Thoughts on a fair price for them would also be a plus. Thanks for any help and info.

I'm skeptical that 1-tons got special tow hooks based on a parts catalog standpoint and the front frame horns were the same as 1/2 and 3/4 ton's. Tow hooks appear to be the same part number for 1/2 through 1 ton in the parts catalogs and no specific hook is shown for 1tons. The only RPO's for hooks are V70 and V76 and the parts catalog shows the V70 for export between years 82 and 84 (screenshot from the 79-84 parts catalog).

MJN thanks for the reply, found those same hooks I have in a forum thread here started by "too much stuff" and member Zoomad75 replied with a reference to pulling that type of hook off of a one ton at a parts yard. Just trying to pin these down since the have the 73-80 beef to them with the 81-87 curved style?

Here was a set of NOS recently bought up off eBay. I don’t personally know what they are found on, I bought a set from TooMuchStuff Eric for my v3500 crew cab. I have never seen any others in the salvage yards I have been to. It’s always the lighter duty set, which seem too light of duty for the 1 ton 4x4 trucks. Part number on the instruction sheet is this: gm #14029219

Trevor, thanks for posting this. Boxes look in pretty rough shape but are there any other legible part numbers still visible? Do the boxes or the paperwork shown give a range of the years they fit? The part number 14029219 matches the number on one of the hooks I have. The other hook is 14029217, thinking a left and right matched set?
