55.2-59 Help getting door to open

I just picked up a 55. Sitting since 1997 outside. I can't get the driver door to open. I think its unlocked. Anybody got any trucks to get this thing open?

go inside from the other side and try it from inside handle. it may be locked with the inside handle which, if unfamiliar with these trucks, you pull the handle the other way from opening. or possibly the lock rod fell off the lever at the latch end of the door behind the metal plate.
here is a link to the assembly manual which shows how stuff goes together at the factory. look in sect 1 sheet 69 for door mechanisms. you can possibly remove the handles and fudge the screws off part of the panel enough to see if the lever is connected and moving the latch mechanism. also first, you could opening the window and lifting the door as you try the handle to open. sometimes the hinges get worn out so the door sags and rubs the latch until a groove gets cut into the area. then the door latch may work as it is supposed to but the groove is holding the door from releasing since the door is sitting down in the groove. the assembly manual is a good one to download and keep a copy for future reference. you never know when the thing gets pulled from the site.

sorry, I assumed you have a 55 second series, a task force (TF) truck. they changed from the advanced design (AD) mid year. you will hear guys refer to them as 55.1 or 55.2. you may already know that.
post up some pics so we can see the project.
