New from SC
I was able to get my grandfather's truck that had been sitting at a family members house for years! Glad to have it and working to get it back on the road. All tires were toast, newest pair was from 1997. Factory 307, but motor is toast which is why it was parked in the first place. Looking for an inexpensive 350 or 307 to replace to just get it back on the road to be able to test the trans and other functions. Had all kinds of growth on it, but was able to clean most of it off. Got new tires for it today, went with 30 x 9.50 R15. Filled the wheel wells nice and still fit on the spare tire mount. Glad to be on another forum that seems to have a good following in the vehicle world!

Re: New from SC
I believe it's great to be able to have your grandfathers truck, it looks to have a few options on it and hopefully you get to enjoy as much as he did.

Re: New from SC
Welcome and congrats on being able to keep that truck in the family. Now you need to find some hubcaps to complete the stock look if that's what you are going for

Re: New from SC
Great story.
If my grandpa’s truck was still around my brother would probably claim it . Which would be okay. Glad you are keeping it in the family. Welcome ,,,

Lexington, seen any older running 350s down your way for sale?

Re: New from SC
Cool truck, and I'm glad you were able to get it and start giving it some care. It looks like the lichen was trying to take over, haha. I saw the box-o-parts on the passenger side of the seat. Are you sure the 307 wouldn't run if you put it back together? Might not run well, but might allow you to drive it enough to prove out the other parts and give them whatever attention they need. Regardless, welcome! Yours would be a cool truck to see a build thread on if you haven't started one already.
