67 door handle on a 68-71 remote?

My 67 door handle will not fit on a 68-71 remote.
How is the best way to modify a 68-71 door handle remote to accept a reproduction 67 door handle?
Or are there reproduction 67 Buick Skylark remotes that will do this without modification?

That's funny. I've used Model Year '68 Door Handles and Window Cranks on my '67 Suburban, and they snapped right on with the little c-clips.
The thinner 'spoon' of the handle on the '67-only design can break more easily. The '68-'72 handles were stouter.
Got a deal on Ebay year before last, on some Volvo Truck handles that were identical. Same shape, shaft diameter and depth and the c-clip clipped in right.

I think I will buy 68-71 door handle senders/remotes, place my 67 handles on them, mark the clip location in the senders/remotes and take them to a machinist to have a new groove cut into them for the clips. I will post the results in the event that I accomplish this.
