Seat rebuild
Ok I know I'm always asking a lot of questions but that's what we are here for correct?
What's the best place to buy seat parts? Mostly new foam? Anyone use a better foam than factory? I want the original seat covers and look but would really like a more comfortable option in foam. Any help is always appreciated |

Now the foam and supplies, I get from USA1 Industries. I have lately been getting foam from CJ Pony. All the foam comes from Dashes Direct, so it’s a matter of finding who has the best price. Now this is where CJ Pony has been getting my foam business. They have sales from time to time. Plus they have free shipping. That’s where you save the money. It’s not cheap shipping foam. I was going to use a cover from USA1 Industries for that 67-68 seat, but sold it before I got a cover made. Which worked out better, because the person that bought the seat was going to use a different color than I was. The 2nd pic, has the new foam sitting on the shelf. It’s the one that is white.

I'm not sure that there is going to be a "better foam" available today. You may find a more comfortable foam but its not likely to last 30 plus years like the originals did.

Re: Seat rebuild
I replaced the foam when I rebuilt my seat. Here's a write-up on it:
https://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/...d.php?t=818035 I went with American Cushion Industries brand foam because the reviews said it was softer than the PUI brand foam. It's also made in the USA. It was expensive, but I am very happy with the quality. My seat is a '68 model, so it's got springs in the back rest, but here's the 69-72 full-foam version: https://www.npdlink.com/product/mold...1972&year=1972 |
