Need help identifying part
Near the end of a two year restoration and I found this bracket that I cannot figure out where it went. Can anyone help? I had to come off a 55 2nd series GMC 100. Thanks in advance. Steve

Re: Need help identifying part
I think I have seen one of those pieces before but can't remember what it was on or what it did. I'm pretty sure that it isn't a Chevrolet battery tray for any model though.

Re: Need help identifying part
Hmm, I only have a stepside truck. I tried to fit it at the rear license plate but couldn't find a fit. Maybe an extra part? I thought I was careful bagging parts as I took them off. Thanks for your thoughts.

Re: Need help identifying part
I think this may be a license plate bracket that bolts to the bed cross sill and the bumper. Check out this thread: http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=676371 You can see where it bolts on to plus see the light peeking out from underneath the lip of the bumper.

Re: Need help identifying part
Pretty easy to tell, lay a license plate or frame on it and see if the small holes line up. That rubber bumper middle top probably keeps the plate from vibrating.
