any identification numbers on frame

Hello I bought what was supposed to be 1980 K10. Didnt look that hard at the numbers before I bought it from estate sale. AC truck 4spd near perfect 8ft bed.
205 transfer case Runs and drives. Paid 1400 for it
The cab is a 1980 3/4ton 2 wd as is the title.
The engine is for the most part orange has a few blue brackets on it. I want to know if there are any numbers on the frame that might tell year of production etc. Got a feeling mid 70s drive train with 1980 cab and grill.
Thanks

Re: any identification numbers on frame

cant remember for sure but I think there is a vin number on frame above the rear axle on the pass. side. Been wrong before but I remember seeing one on my bare frame years ago when I was rebuilding. I bet Someone else on this forum will know.

Re: any identification numbers on frame

I've been told that there's a partial vin on top of the passenger side frame rail, near the back edge of the cab. I've never seen it myself, but I'm told it's difficult unless you remove the cab.

This is correct.

Could be driver's side rail, depending on final assembly location, but true in terms of partial VIN, top of upper flange of rail and difficult to see.

Should be an assembly plant location, model year code, and sequential portion of VIN, ie:

FA123456

A = 1980 model year
