Fuel Pump Took a Powder - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

My mechanical fuel pump took a dump this morning. It's a Top Street Performance Mechanical Fuel Pump JM1003BK. It only has 1,033 miles on it since I installed it. The pump arm wobbles all over the place unlike when it was new. I changed the old carter out for this in January along with the inlet and outlet positions of the fuel lines.
Doesn't seem like they build stuff like they used to

Of course for the price I should have known better. Trying to save money and have to buy twice.
I guess I could get the same unit and hope it lasts till winter and change out for an electric. Which will probably take a dump on me in 2,000 miles.

Dang, that's a bummer.

I got a Delphi mechanical pump when mine went out. Crossing my fingers that it will last longer than that

I have been using a Holly mechanical fuel pump for many years and it has worked vary well.

That's good to hear.. They have a #12-834 pump that will work but I have to make small changes to the inlet and outlet tubing. I may consider it instead.
Well the new one is all back in and working, Summit had it at my door in less than 24 hours and I didn't even pay extra for shipping.

Like I said this winter a change must happen either way.
