Shifter lever “Wobble”
My gift over seems too easy to pull back (out of the detent) before shifting gears, like the detent spring doesn’t have enough pressure to give a firm feel.
I have a tilt column from a 72 Blazer that I bought a long time ago on eBay. When I installed the column, I had to put the lever back on. It could be that I didn’t put the sprin in correctly, or that it does have the right spring. I don’t know. Is there a source out there for this little detent spring that I speak of? And, is there a secret to installing said spring, so that it’ll work correctly? Thanks in advance |

Okay, I know there’s a member that rebuilds tilt columns, so if someone could tell me, I. Kuldip PM him for some insight.

Kind of only go in one way. Maybe lever is worn out. Classic Parts has replacements. Get the van lever if you have a smaller wheel. I have their van lever on my OEM tilt.

Re: Shifter lever “Wobble”
Can you clarify what the problem is? I'm afraid I just didn't understand your post.

Re: Shifter lever “Wobble”
The following thread indicates that the spring is still available from GM:

I think you understand my issue. The lever spring doesn’t seem to have enough pressure to push it back into the detent. You could very well be right about the collar being loose|(which it is) and the issue it causes. I am going to contact 70shortfleet, to see if he can talk me through it. Thanks a bunch |
