55.2-59 55 flatbed dually truck

A friend of my family has inherited some things belonging to her parents . One of the things was a 1955 flatbed . she sent me pictures , If any one is in interested let me know. It is in a backyard full of stuff.

Tree fell on it last fall. That is when the windshield got broke out.

The flatbed it's self is rater interesting. At least the perimeter frame work is.

How much rust it actually has is probably the deciding factor for some folks. Dents don't bother me nearly as much as rust.

If this truck is free, great. If you are advertising for sale, it needs to be deleted. You cannot advertise for sale unless you are a premium member, and even then you cannot advertise for somebody else.

From an east coast perspective, that truck is in great shape. I can still see cab corners, rockers, and the bottoms of fenders. Wish I was able to take on a project like this...

In actual truth it is worth what someone feels is an honest offer when they hold cash green money out in front of the lady.

I'm not talking the would be flipper who offers her 300 and then posts it on FB market place for 3K on the way home after getting a bill of sale using your photos and not having picked it up yet. I sold a rig like that back about 30 years ago before internet. Guy had heard it was for sale, showed up and made me a low ball cash in the hand offer and said a buddy would be by with his trailer to pick it up. A week later a dude rolls in with a pickup and trailer and says he had bought the truck that ______ had stored here. I asked him what he had paid for it and he showed me the bill of sale for 5 times what I sold it for. I didn't have the heart to tell the guy that he had really gotten screwed on the deal but he was happy with it and even bought some more pieces from me.

Honestly one of the best ways you can help her is to help her air the tires up, clean the junk and brush out of it. Drag it out of that spot to a spot where is better presented and take a batch of photos of it after it is cleaned up. I don't mean scrubbed to a shine but get the junk out of the inside and the back get all the leaves and brush off it and make it look like something someone would want that is ready to load on a trailer. That might get her twice what she would otherwise. If it has a title make sure that is noted as that alone is worth quite a bit to a buyer.

thats a one ton, so the front clip will be the same as a 1/2 ton, if you or someone else wanted to make a 1/2 ton out of it. thats a big deal. you may have to offer it as a cab and front clip, someone may pop on those pieces.

dollar value will be dependent on how much rust there is on the bottom 3rd. being a colorado truck its probably pretty clean, another feather there if its not super rusty.

make sure the vin tag is in the drivers door jamb, up high. they were spotwelded and fall off, mine is missing on my 56.

i think location will be your biggest hurdle. I am close-ish to southern colorado (eastern side of the mountains anyway) and even i wouldnt jump for more than the cab and front clip at an impossible price. if desperation sets in maybe send me a note haha.

UPDATE: Family was told to clear things out and another friend was able to by it cheep and plans to put a 57 hood and grill on and make it a 1/2 ton.

That roof isn't going to be a fun fix.

it might be a good thing that I am short on spending money or I'd be trying to deal your buddy out of that bed and dragging my trailer to Colorado.
