Re: ok another answer the the eternal wiper arm thread :D

well Dorman decided it was a niche market and do not want to put out any effort towards it.. So I guess we keep building them ourselves. On another note I noticed a few in the thread have asked about the J Hook style arms. I am fixing to start experimenting with those here soon and see if I can come up with another one for our trucks. Will post progress. parts to test out are coming in wednesday afternoon.

Re: ok another answer the the eternal wiper arm thread :D

alright got a jeep cherokee arm and 2 j hooks in. picture will give you an Idea. If any of yall are out in junkyards keep and eye out for J hook styles if ya can. the bottom most arm will not work without a lot of bending and heating. middle is cherokee one. top is a ford wiper arm J hook style. it has the right bend but when it comes time to flip it there will be lots of interference with the wiper itself. What we would need to find is a j hook passenger side one pointing to the driverside of the truck... hrmmmm more digging now lol Will play with the top one might need to bend it where the wiper blade mounts hrrmmmpppphhhh.... I do love puzzles lol

Re: ok another answer the the eternal wiper arm thread :D

ok here goes preliminaries. the j hook bar is 23/64 wide and cherokke one is 9/32 wide. so we need to find a j hook with a 9/32 bar width to possibly make this work. I wish i had time right now to go trolling junkyards but working 6 days a week at the moment lol..
keep your eyes open when yall are out at the yards will pay for shipping and whatever one costs if you find one? also year make and model

Wonder if this will work on the post size of the various model C10s, both the 60-66 and the later model groups?

Re: ok another answer the the eternal wiper arm thread :D

Later groups use a 5/8 post not the 1/2 posts like ours. J Hook have been done on squares I know and have seen. Will get a set of the grainger arms to play with
