Signal lights.

I am wiring my led tail lights and the signal lights work when the headlights are off. When the headlights are on the signal lights don’t work, I can hear the flasher going off though. I hard wired the tail lights because the sockets were rotted. I connected the yellow wire to the to the signal light wire, the red wire to the the brown wire/constant power from headlight switch and then black wire to ground. Is it a wiring issue or a bad signal switch in the steering column. Or am I missing something.

It's got something to do with the LED bulbs... I can't remember the exact deal but had a square body doing the same thing & it ended up being the front turn signal LED bulbs making it happen. And remember LED bulbs have to be turned correctly in the socket, maybe something simple as flipping them around.

LEDs have polarity and must be wired correctly, try reversing the wiring going to the LED itself. Also you need a solid state flashed to work properly, LEDs do not use enough current to make an old school flasher work. Another thing is the wiring going to the flasher. Old school flasher do not care which pin is +12v but a solid state one does. Found that out after many hours trying to get my AMX converted to LEDs. One last thing, some LEDs need a resister put in series with them to work, some don't, I had to add them at both front and back on my '67. I used 6 ohm 50w resistors, way over kill at 50W but they are easy to mount, look on Amazon for Resistors for Fix LED if you need them.

Swapped the 2 wires and that did the trick, thanks for the help.
