79 Blazer Fender Emblem Installation Moral Dilemma
Just ordered in two new K5 Blazer emblems for LMC and I plan on installing them. Thing is the guy who redid the fenders on my truck filled in the holes and painted over both front and back so I have no idea where the holes are. The new emblems I got have two studs on them. I was thinking maybe grinding off the 2 studs and using 3M double sided adhesive to just paste them on, but I'm not sure if this is better than drilling two new holes and then pasting them on.
Honestly I don't wanna mess with barrel nuts because I don't wanna take off the inner fender. Either way I'm gonna use some adhesive. Question is to drill two holes or to grind two studs.... |

Re: 79 Blazer Fender Emblem Installation Moral Dilemma
If you use the two sided tape the emblem isn’t going to be flush with the fender it Will stick out . I would drill the fenders and use barrel clips or the regular speed nuts if the fenders are off

Re: 79 Blazer Fender Emblem Installation Moral Dilemma
Both the emblems on my C30 are held with 3m emblem tape..there is a void on the back of my emblems and I had to use 2 layers..they stick out a tiny bit..mostly unnoticeable..
They've been hanging for over 10 yrs with no issues

Re: 79 Blazer Fender Emblem Installation Moral Dilemma
Your talking about this tape correct?
https://www.amazon.com/3M-08069-Pres...dp/B000PEWDJW/ Also does anybody happen to have the bolt hole dimensions on the fender for a 79 blazer emblem? I've been looking around on the interwebs for one but cant find one for this generation. Thanks guys |

Re: 79 Blazer Fender Emblem Installation Moral Dilemma
I would suggest 3M VHB (very high bond) tape for something like an emblem.
