Re: Show me your side view (door) mirror
What are you going to use your truck for? Work, play, show?

Re: Show me your side view (door) mirror
I bought a set of these on Ebay (not my pic I haven't got my truck back from paint yet.) A little bigger than a car mirror but not too big.

Re: Show me your side view (door) mirror
I mounted 58 Impala mirrors on my truck. They took a little getting used to, but I really love the way they look and work.

Re: Show me your side view (door) mirror
I decided to stick with stock mirrors for an OEM/nostalgic look. I'm still in the process of my restoration, but the few times I've taken it around the neighborhood, I'm not real happy with the visibility they offer. I added a small convex mirror to help with the blind spot. The B pillar is hard to see around, especially with the small back glass, so the convex is nice to have. The main mirror doesn't offer much viewing, so its more for looks as I see myself using the convex most of the time. I also purchase a 5" convex mirror which I'm contemplating switching entirly to that. I also tried the 5x7 mirror which offered better visibility, but didn't like the look as much as the 5" round.

Re: Show me your side view (door) mirror
I've decided that I'm going to buy some nice west coast mirrors for mine too, probably from these guys...

Re: Show me your side view (door) mirror
I see some of the parts suppliers offer 5x7 mirrors for the original bases. Anyone try those and are they any better? Remember hearing something about the repop bases are not as strong and vibrate a lot.

Re: Show me your side view (door) mirror
I have the repop arms and mirrors. Yes, they do vibrate a lot, especially on highway speeds. I can still see stuff behind me at highway speeds, but the vibrations just makes it less clear. I've had them on for a few years now, and the mirrors have no problem with staying where I have positioned them.
I have the original arm that I pulled off. I might throw it back on and see if there's much of a difference between the original and aftermarket arms in terms of vibration

Re: Show me your side view (door) mirror
I have used the 4x6 stainless as well as the 5” round, I am sticking with the 4” round myself with stock arms

Re: Show me your side view (door) mirror
I bought the bigger round convex mirrors and they have decent visibility but the convex is really weird to get used to. Mostly in the passenger side mirror. Takes getting use to.

Re: Show me your side view (door) mirror
Has anyone ever used 74-87 C10 or F150 side mirrors? I don’t hate the looks of either and have found they offer vastly better visibility than pre-74 C10 mirrors...

Re: Show me your side view (door) mirror
I read that above also...mine seem solid so hopefully not. It will be about a month until my truck is back on the road. I am installing the engine/trans tomorrow...then finish putting her back together, but I will update the thread when I start driving it again.
