I finially bought one, now I need to get it here !

Hey guys,
As some of you know, I have been looking for a while quite hard. Well I finially found one and now I just need to get it out here to Ca. It is in Miss., ( about 2000 miles away ). I posted this in general discussion already, but any help in shipping companies or other ideas would be great.

Thanks,
Bret

Talking

CAN IT BE TRANSPORTED ON A OPEN CARRIER, OR DOES IT HAVE TO BE
ENCLOSED TRANSPORT, IS IT LIFTED, STOCK, OR 2WD, WHERE AT IN TN.
TO WHERE AT IN CALI, YOU CAN GO TO THIS LINK, IT IS LIKE LENDING
TREE, FILL OUT YOUR INFO AND GET UP TO 5 QUOTES BACK, I WENT
FROM VISTA, SOUTH OF LA, TO BEECH BLUFF, WEST OF JACKSON, IT
WAS IN LESS THAN 4 DAYS THAT I GOT MINE ONCE IT SHIPPED, I WILL
SAY MOST COMPANIES WILL TELL YOU IT WILL 2-3 WEEKS BEFORE IT
CAN BE PICKED UP, SUMMER IS THERE BUSY TIME, FOR THE COST OF
MY TRIP ABOVE, $950 OPEN / $1600 ENCLOSED, NEITHER ONE WILL BE
ABLE TO TAKE ANY PARTS THAT ARE NOT CONFINED TO THE INSIDE OF
THE VEHICLE, ALSO BE VERY SPECIFIC ON YOUR SPECS, I GOT SCREWED
BECAUSE I TOLD THEM FIVE TIME IT WAS ALMOST 90" TALL AND THEY
FORGOT, WHEN THEY WENT TO PICK IT UP THERE WERE MAJOR ISSUES.
PM ME IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTION, I WILL GLAD TO HELP IF I CAN.

DAS shippers

I used Dependable Auto Shippers last year when I bought my blazer from Ebay. It was shipped from Leander,Texas to Roanoke,Va. Took them 14 days to get it here and they broke the passenger side mirror off of it. Cost was 800.00 and 80.00 worth of insurance, which if I hadn't had purchased the miror would not have been replaced. A call to my insuurance co. said it was covered by them from the day I bought it. Might check into that. I would use them again. One other thing, when you pick it up from their terminal, allow yourself plenty of time to look the vehicle over GOOD! I was so pissed about the mirror I overlooked a fresh rock ding in the windshield and had to replace the windshield. moodyholler

One Other Thing That Moddyholler Mentioned That Reminded Me
That I Forgot To Metion, The Service I Got Was Door To Door,
They Did Not Require You To Pick It Up At A Terminal, And They
Give Up To 50k In Insurance Free With 0 Deductable, Just Fyi.

The last vehicle I bought out of state was a 1970 C20. It was near Christmas, I took the bus and drove it home, but it was only about a 800 mile drive back in the rain and snow. By the time I got home I knew the truck pretty well. I also had a good time.

I had my blazer transported from LA to Ohio- cost- door to door- $680.00- but that was back in 96. Prices may have gone up. National auto transporters- 1-818-988-9000, ask for Jason- he may not be there anymore, though. They're in LA. I like Jimmy72Custom's idea- get a bargain ticket east, drive it home! See the USA in your Chevrolet! My blazer was delivered on an open cargo trailer, very professional- I also sent a Vette back to LA- got a closed trailer for $650.00- door to door.
Good luck!

I bought my 71 K5 on ebay this past April and had to have it shipped from Virginia to Mass. I went with Able Auto Transport, and it only cost me $450. It got here just fine and they were ahead of schedule. I'd recommend them.
