Canadian GMC rad support

So I have a 1950 Canadian GMC 100. The Canadian trucks came with the Chev 216. Apparently the GMC 228 or 248 could be ordered as an option. Mine came with a 216 but has a later model 235 in it now. I'm looking at my rad support and it has a bend to it at the bottom, guessing about 3/4". Looks factory to me, not like it was beaten into that shape. Also, it is the same style as a Chevrolet, not like the US GMC. (other than that bend) Does anyone know if the Canadian GMC's had different rad supports than the US models? All the holes line up with the fenders and the crossmember. Anyone know anything about these GMC's, and if this is normal?

Re: Canadian GMC rad support

Can you show us some more photos of it? the US GMC radiator support has a similar bend in it but the holes on the sides line up with the bolt holes in the inner fenders.

Re: Canadian GMC rad support

Mr48chev, that's interesting, and thanks for the reply. Mine is more the shape of a Chevrolet, not as sharp of an angle on the bottom like the usual GMC's. I'll try to get some more pictures over the weekend. There's not much info about the Canadian trucks, I was hoping i would get some replies from some other Canucks that have worked on these things.

Re: Canadian GMC rad support

my 57 Canadian GMC has a Chevy style rad support, not the normal GMC one.

Re: Canadian GMC rad support

both my Canadian '52 and '53 chevrolet 1/2 tons had the 'normal' chevy style, Rad cap on top of tank, sides of support straight, not bent as shown above.

I know this does not answer your question, just adding to the body of knowledge

only picture I have, from '53 parts truck I sold. The one in my '52 has been cut up to tip the bottom of rad forward so it is no help:
