Re: My new Apache10
Overall it’s not awful. The rust is better than most, but lotsa bodywork to do. Crawling underneath I see no signs of collisions, and all the panels and doors line up nicely. It’s just a beat up farm truck. The PO removed the rare side and rear cab trim but it’s still got the trim around the windows. 5 OG rims. I have all of the heater knobs and they are in great shape like the ashtray. I have the headlight bezels as well and they are in great shape. Popped a battery in her and she fired up!

Re: My new Apache10
Nice find! With a little bit of cleaning, it'll come right back around

Re: My new Apache10
That looks great. I like that two-tone paint scheme and the colors.

Re: My new Apache10
Thanks guys. I dig the colors too, it’s a respray of the OG colors, it must have been done a loong time ago. The thick layers of bondo are falling out everywhere. But it’s a good thing they slathered so much bondo in the dents rather than beat up and stretch the metal. I’ve leArned a lot from lurking around here and searching my area the last few years. It feels good to just have it in my driveway.
My cat digs the 60-61 charcoal and silver interior paint, which is in pretty good shape really.

Re: My new Apache10
It doesn't matter what it looks like. New brakes, safety stuff (tires, electrics, etc.) and drive the **** out if it. Thats what I would do. Sure is a beauty.

Re: My new Apache10
Hey mountaineer I don’t see a date code on these tires but I’m guessing they can’t be more than 40 yrs old, so I should be good🙂. I did bleed the clutch and brakes this weekend, holy damn what an ordeal. Took some new bleeder valves, a vacuum pump, 2 quarts of brake fluid, and my neighbor standing on the brake. I only had to replace 1 wheel cylinder which was surprising. Did I mention that it hasn’t been tagged since 1994?
Look at the sticker I found behind the seat today. I am happy as a clam. Thanks for the kind words guys!
