Early dipsticks had an "O" ring that leaked.
GM changed the design to what looked like a top hat seal. The tube changed to a tapered end. They hardly ever leak. After reading I may be thinking incorrectly. GM calls them the "tube" and "gauge" Sounds like you only need the gauge? |
