Burning up plug wires
I have a set of Hedman headers on LT1 Heads. Existing plugs are ATL26.
One lead is shorting to the header. Bought a ceramic replacement but cannot get it on the plug. There is about .25 inch clearance between the plug end and the header....its too tight to get the ceramic on there. Is there a shorter plug I can use? Or other suggestions? Thanks Tim |

Re: Burning up plug wires
There are short plugs. My nephew had to get a set for his headers.
If there is only one or two spots that need a short plug, and it is possible, I would bend the header. Unfortunately, in that spot (the bend right out of the head) you would probably need the pull the header, heat the spot, and beat the heck out of it using a spark plug socket as the shape you are forming into it. While at it try to make room for the spark plug socket. |

Re: Burning up plug wires
Have you tried to Loosen the header ? Might tear the gasket though I had to dimple my headers for one of the bolts. Little heat and a blunt piece of rebar worked well
