67 C10 Ride Height
I bought a 67 C10 and it appears that the PO didn't lower it "correctly". It looks like the rear coils have had a torch applied to them, and I think the front coils have been cut. Oh, and it rides like ****!!!
I would like to use lowered springs for the rear, and I have 3" dropped spindles for the front. Before I order rear coils/blocks, and new front springs, I would like to baseline how low I am from stock. I would like to keep the ride height about where it is now or maybe an inch lower. My measurements from the fender lip to the center of the front wheel is 18" for the front and 18.5" for the rear. Does anyone have measurements at stock ride height from the fender edge to the center of the wheel? |

Re: 67 C10 Ride Height
Not a ‘67, but my ‘69 measures 20” from the wheel axis to the top of top of the fender arch.
It’s even front/rear which is odd because I thought these trucks had a slight rake stock?

Re: 67 C10 Ride Height
They do indeed have a rake from the factory. The rear wheel arch is also 2" lower than the front arch, so with the factory rake the distance from wheel center to top of the arch is the same front and rear.

Would help to measure from fender lip to center of hub. They way you can compare any vehicle as the tire and wheel size are not effecting the measurement.

Re: 67 C10 Ride Height
Got it, I see that now. For reference mine is 16” rear 15 1/2” front. 4” rear lowering springs, 2” drop spindles and 1” lowering springs for the front. Did not take stock measurements so I have no idea how much lowering I really got.

Re: 67 C10 Ride Height
That is a good height. What components did you use to achieve that height?

Re: 67 C10 Ride Height
I'm 16" in front and 16.5" in the rear to wheel centerline with stock spindles and 5" lowering springs in the back and 3" springs in the front.

Re: 67 C10 Ride Height
Control arms, springs and drop spindles from CCP.

My 1970 has 2 1/2 inch drop spindles in the front and 4 inch drop springs in the rear. Front measures 16 1/2 inches and the rear measures 17. Measurements taken with genuine Chevrolet Truck Legends tape measure. |
