Bad PCV or grommet?
Leaking oil around the PCV. Nice round circle on the valve cover and slowly flowing down. The PCV still rattles but is VERY loose. PCV moves too easily in the grommet and comes out without a snug feel. Like the PCV is just sitting there. Thanks.

Re: Bad PCV or grommet?
It is a check valve, so put low air pressure on the side with the hose. If air flows, it is bad. Also, check to see how much blow-by you have. That's the usual contributor.

Re: Bad PCV or grommet?
It will help the engine if the pcv system is a closed system. Have the other valve cover breathing filter air instead of eng compartment dirt

Re: Bad PCV or grommet?
Sounds like a mis-match of parts and or poor manufacturing tolerances. I would break out my trusty calipers and measure the OD & ID of the pieces and then most likely try to locate a PCV valve that fit the grommet better.
