MAN! It's SWEET! FINALLY both front fenders are the same heighth. (Perfectly 28" on each side) I would say I put the coils in wrong, but since both fenders are the same heighth, I musta done it right.
Also, for anyone thinking (coughcoughEriccoughcough) that a 255/55 17 won't work with 5" front drop...You're WRONG!! I still have a CLEAR 1" of space between the tiretop and the fender. (But I DID roll the fenders, just as a precaution)
In the pic of the coils, I have them sitting upside down, so the name is right side up.
Sorry for the horrible picture of the truck..I'll get a better picture 2moro when the lighting is better.

Can you jack up the truck by the K member and not have the springs fall out of the cup?

You mean the upper cup? I THINK I can jack it up and they'll just sag, but stay in place.

Yup, I'm gonna leave it with this rake, for now. It will have a little less rake when I move the gas tank to the back (fuel cell) and have it full. (Currently, EMPTY on gas)

Did you buy them as Ground Force springs or Summit brand springs?

I buy a bunch of Summit brand springs and they are actually the blue Ground Force ones like that. I have them under both my 77 Blazer and my 70 short bed.

Bought them as Summit Brand. I knew they were Ground Force already though. Matter of fact, I think you were the one who told me they were. They look good to me. Got them for $92 out the door.

90% of the time, Summit Brand is a GOOD brand, just sold under the auspice of "Summit Brand".

Ive got some cut down springs on my 72 it only lowered it 3 inches and i cant jack my truck up by the crossmember Otherwise the springs will fall down and i have to line them back up with the upper alingment dowel.

It is very possible that you didn't get the coil spring in the pocket right. I did this when I installed my HD coil springs in my truck recently. There was 1/4 difference in mine when measured. I did go back and put them in the right way. It was my first time and I didn't even notice the spring pocket until I was doing the passenger side, started on the driver.

I'm PRETTY sure I got them into the pocket correctly. On the top, that little round thing is inside the small coil, and on the bottom, the coil covers the drain hole. I think it's right, because 28" is right where the fender SHOULD be. (Stock I put 32" tires on, and with 5" drop I have 28" tires on, makes sense)

when i lowered my truck, after a little while driving it(say around 10 minutes) the springs, popped into place and it lowered it a good inch or so.

When I put my 3" springs in, I could jiggle them side to side. I had to get my wife to lower the floor jack while I held them in place. However I have since rotated my tires and for some reason they stay in place now.

Are those your stock unmodified springs in the picture Tim?

Yup, those are the stock (I assume HD) coils. The only problem I had installing the springs, was I had to get someone to jack up the LCA while I held the spring in place. But once I got the Lower Balljoint Castlenut on and tightened down, then they were fine.

I think that rake looks good. The fender lips are almost level.

If it does drop a little more in front, just install a bumper and your tailgate and you should be good to go.
