How do I determine if an alternator is internal or external regulated and how do I clean old aluminum parts to make them nice and shiny again?

alternators with internal regulators have a plug that inters from the side exernal enters from the back....

You can paint the aluminum parts with Krylon Bright Metallic,and they will look brand new.Juts like a new intake you pull out the box

Eastwood sells a cast aluminum restoration kit and buffing stuff, something you might want to look into.
