help with year ID
I just bought a 49 pick up that is on a blazer frame, I'm trying to identify year of frame and drive line. it has drum brakes all the way around and locking hubs

are you sure its a blazer frame? posting pics might help... if it has all drums and is a blazer frame i would guess 1 gen blazer... or perhaps early 2nd gen....

According to this site, disc brakes were standard as of 1973...

I would say it is a pre-73 frame then. All 73+ had front disc brakes.

Drum brakes on a blazer would only be a 69 or 70. In '71 all the trucks/blazers/burbs got disk brakes.

this 49 must have a really short bed, i have seen people put 73-87 truck cabs on blazer frames and theres not much left for a bed... i would be willing to bet its a short bed pickup chasis... still going to be pre 73... my fathers 65 has drums all around...

FWIW, the axles from the earlier 67-72 trucks will bolt up to later springs, and vice versa. Drums would definitely be 70 or older though. What do the knuckles look like?
