I was thinking 38"s would be awesome on it also - though it is so dang tall now, I don't know how I'm gonna get in it!

Race2c - the color is based off of a Saturn metallic silver with a lot more flake and a bit lighter. Body guy mixed up exactly what I was wanting.

Jim, my buddy used a Dana 44 from a 3/4 ton GMC along with all the spring hanger parts. I will get some pics of the front axle setup next time I see him for you. It is an awesome truck. Started life as a truck that went through a bad tornado, he had to totally redo the truck and did all the work from the body, swapping in the running gear and paint.

One last 1 ton question, the tranny cross member, was it a direct swap in i.e was/is the frame the same width? Right now the 72 C30 I'm looking at has a 427 which I don't get, but I'll put in a 350, it already has a high hump because of the sm465 in it now.

Jump really high. Fabricate some steps. That much lift calls for some 38's. It will be MEAN!

Tony had to shim the crossmember because the 3/4 ton is not as tall as the 1 ton's frame. About an 1 1/2" difference he thinks. Width was the same. Tony said the whole front crossmember comes out and you can get a donor 4wd and the engine crossmember goes in with only having to drill a couple holes. Tony thinks the holes for the front spring hangers is in the 1 ton's frame. For the rear of the front springs you do have to drill the hole for the spring hanger through the frame. Also have to drill the holes for the transfer case bracket. Tony thinks the steering gear box needs to be from the 4wd.

No he's pulling the motor. the 427 does not come with the truck. He's keeping the 427 and radiator, I get 2 beds and everything else.

That color looks great on the truck. It will definitely look better with 38's and some black rims. Black rims with big meats will look great against that color.
