Coil spring spacers/stabilizers
I am kind if in a bind.
Bought new tires the end last summer. Just installed 2.5" drop spindles and 1" drop coils in the front of my truck. I am running 275x60x15s on the truck now. I had over 2.5" clearance when I installed, thought I would be ok. The springs have compressed I guess, got less than 2" now. I went looking to buy new tires today. Problem I have is I can't afford to drop the truck any further, I have about 3.5" clearance from the lower control arms/header collectors to the ground. If I buy a narrower tire, I will drop about an inch, so they tell me. I have almost 2" clearance between my front tires and my fenders. I was thinking for a temporary solution, well maybe a couple of summers. I would try some 1" coil spring spacers. I also see listed as coil spring stabilizers. Has anyone used these? Think it would work? I am thinking if I have close to 3" clearance between my tires and fenders I might be ok, till someday I replace my headers, which are also brand new and the tires. I bought front and rear springs last year and sold for almost half what I paid, rather not keep buying new ones! Thanks!! Last edited by johnymac; 06-23-2002 at 07:01 PM. |
