Re: SECURITY!! What are you guys doing for security?
I use antilock system for the brake pedel. I actually have them in a couple of my other cars. Truth is if they want it it's theirs however how bad do they want it. I'll look into the coil wire by pass that sounds like a good Idea.....
p.s. Don't forget to remove the antilock off the break yourselfs.....SCARY STUFF not being able to use the brake pedal.....

Re: SECURITY!! What are you guys doing for security?
Just to let you know. If you have a manuel fuel pump and a steering wheel that does not lock all you need is 4 feet of wire and a screwdriver to drive these trucks.

Re: SECURITY!! What are you guys doing for security?
Sadly, I'm more worried about someone busting a window and stealing the stereo than the truck.

Re: SECURITY!! What are you guys doing for security?
You would need a rollback to move my truck and have to hire Indiana Jones to locate all the parts anyway.
I'll worry about this when the truck is in less peices. lol

Re: SECURITY!! What are you guys doing for security?
I use 3 systems in my 71. First, I had to put a Ford style starter solenoid due to header heat and wired a switch into that. Second is a switch on the primary side of HEI coil. Last, I have saddle gas tanks with the manual lever in the cab. I turn it to an empty tank. The way I figure it, IF they can find the hidden switches (one is obvious and other is located in back of ash tray) and can drive away, it'll die in the middle of the road. I'm sure they'll probably ditch it and run.

Re: SECURITY!! What are you guys doing for security?
A rollback will bridge that gap close enough to get it...it may not be purty, but it can be done.
I wish I had pics of some of the recoveries I did with a rollback.

Re: SECURITY!! What are you guys doing for security?
They want it, no security system in the world is gonna stop em short of a pitbull or another breed of guard dog in tied up in the bed. As with other members I live in a small town of MAYBE 1500 people and that number keeps dropping (another story) theres a few jacka$$es around here that would TRY and mess with someones vehicle but they need to get past the Pyrenes/Wolf cross in my backyard. Besides a loaded .12 gauge will work well as a deterant.
As the sign says, forget the dog beware the owner

i hooked up door and hood switches so if anybody opens those it goes off it has a motion sensor with selectable sensitivity all the way from starting a car next to it will set it off, to you have to hit it with a car to set it off. there are places on the insides of the door for switches and i put the one for the hood next to the rubber bump stop along with that i have the classic steering wheel club, and a hidden switch if you want pics send me a PM Last edited by allthrottle, nobottle; 01-07-2008 at 11:17 AM. |

Re: SECURITY!! What are you guys doing for security?
I have the crime guard system. Has hood an door pin plus disables starter at the solenoid and the neutral safety switch Then I wired it through the electric fuel pump so if they get it started it will only go as far as what gas is in the carb. This system has a backup battery and two sirens the battery and brains are under the seat behind the sub woofer and the only way to get it is take the seat out. I think if they want my truck they better bring a tow truck
