Re: Ebay thief got me...

You never did say, but is the item what was pictured? was it the exact item from the auction? what's the link to the ebay auction?

Re: Ebay thief got me...

Ya, its the same item pictured in the auction..I never would have thought the pic didnt look like a blazer hatch until I took it out of the box and thought, is this steel? And then I thought, this thing is TINY! I realize its also my fault for not recognizing the difference in the photos. Thats why I offered to pay for shipping back to him...no luck.

"this is the back hatch door to the removeable top for70-72 chevrolet blazer or gmc jimmy it is in good shape no cracks, but needs exterior handle and hinges on top. the glass is in great shape and the interior hardware works great as well. buyer is responsible for all shipping cost."

This alone tells me it is fiberglass (or should be) Looks like he intentionally misled people in this auction.

Yeah, report it to ebay. That is misrepresentation of the item in question. What he describes, and what he has pictured are 2 different things.

Well, he may have misled people, but it may not have been intentional. If he was told it was for a blazer/jimmy, that's what he regurgitated back. Personally, if I doubted what I had, I would find out for sure what my items were before I posted them.

I thought the same thing at first, he must not have known....however, after several emails and calls without a response... I don't think it was an accident. Plus I offered to pay to send it back. An honest man would take me up on that....I think.

I agree, if you paid to send it back he should accept it and try re-selling it. he just wants you to go away, don't let up he SHOULD take it back esp with u paying shipping.

First off, Howdy neighbor

I would not even bother wasting time trying to recoop the money. If this is infact a Scout hatch, you should re sell and make your money back with a lot less head ache.

Re: Ebay thief got me...

DO NOT TRUST PAYPAL, I had a similar scammer on some wheels for my Ninja,.
I payed Paypal 5 mins after auctions end and have great feedback for over 10 years. THe guy took forever to ship and only after I had to threaten to report him. That should've been my first clue. Then I get bent wheels. I was out $876. Pay-pal tolm me if I payed to send them back they would get me a refund. So I did, emailed them photos and traking numbers with sig verification that the POS seller got them back. No refund. Nothing, NADA, No Wheels either. at least if I still had them I could've gotten them straightened. They tell me they "are working on it" almost a year later and nothing. I have been a good member of both ebay and paypal over ten years and they have made more than that from me in fees. I think they could cover it since I did what they asked and they found in my favor but no. I haven't used either since

Josh
Oh yeah it looks just like the hatch off my 72 scout II

Re: Ebay thief got me...

I'm becoming more leary of people online, especially Ebay. Right now as a matter a fact I have a bid on some front coils for my wrangler to level the stance out. I searched through the other items for sale by the seller and found that he has some parts for a plow for sale as well to fit the same Jeep the coils were on so I asked him if the coils were on a Jeep that had a plow on it, I don't want to buy coils that are shot or weak from supporting the weight of the damn plow. I figured I would at least get a decent response and yet the only thing he says was "no". Technically it answered my question but kinda irritated me a little too and made me question if he is telling me the truth or not. A little more detailed response would of been appreciated but I guess that would be asking too much of someone i'm about to give my money to. I can't stand lousy people.

Re: Ebay thief got me...

Now Im stumped....RunninLo's scenario is exactly what the paypal lady told me should happen...If they ask me to send it back, how do I know I will get paid?

Jtux - me too. This is so dissapointing.

bac1755 - Im not gonna beat it up, but it wont cost me 70 to ship, thats for sure.

sandking - a local! I may just end up doing that... Im going to give this a little time and see how it plays out.

yammie - his info is posted on page one of this thread.

Josh, did you threaten to cancel your paypal account? I got the impression that would matter to them. Maybe the ultimatum would speed things up?

I would not of purchased that hatch because no matter what he said it was, it looks nothing like a blazer hatch. A picture is worth a thousand words.

Re: Ebay thief got me...

I don't think you're wrong. Regardless of what you purchased or saw, the seller falsely advertised it. I'm not gonna lie to you, the picture is (to the trained eye) clearly not a blazer hatch but I don't know anybody that would purposely go through the trouble you did to buy something and then have to return it. The seller is at fault, plain and simple.

I don't fault you either, it's not like your asking him to refund you shipping - you're accepting responsobility for that which is good in my opinion.

Have you done any searching to see the value of that hatch - sure might be easier to just sell it yourself - rather than screw with PayPal trying to get your money refunded.

Gotta agree, take the bull by the horns and sell it...if those scout guys are like us, they'll jump thru hoops to get it. Plus you'll save shipping money, and get your money faster

Re: Ebay thief got me...

Thanks guys,

I think you are right, I should just sell it, however, I cant find anything or anyone needing those hatches. I searched for an hour or so... One guy responded and said they dont have a huge need for them. Also I would hate to sell it to someone else...its far from perfect. One of the hinges is cracked and pulling out...it would need to be repaired and it has a good sized crease in the metal along one side.

I dont deny that it doesnt look like a blazer hatch. I dont have the best eyes and those little pics looked close enough to me. Especially after reading the description.

RunninLo - your warning last time really got me worried. So, I completed a dispute through my bank. They will go after Paypal if paypal doesnt send the money back. Thanks for your advice.....it really did help me.
