Ebay thief got me...

I purchased a "perfect" hatch for my 72 off ebay a few weeks ago, no cracks,etc. The guy sent it to me... I dont know what it is off of but its not a Blazer or Jimmy hatch. Its metal not fiberglass and its way too small. I have emailed the seller offering to pay to ship it back to him if he will refund my money....

Well guess what? The seller wont reply. I politely called him and emailed him several times. I tried to go through paypal and they said I have no case because he sent the item he had listed.

Its not about the money its just about a "man" acting like a b*tch. I wish I lived close to East Wenatchee, WA...This SOB would pay one way or another.

So, does anyone have an idea what this could be off of? I would like to try to re-sell it if I can figure out what it is... otherwise I will junk it.

FREAKIN paypal, thats why if I ever use paypal I don't give them access to my bank funds, I always use Amex card and would dispute it with them if some low life pulled that. Sorry to hear about your ebay loss, pursue it with ebay they may help. I once got re-imbursed from Paypal after I told Amex that I would not pay the bill and they could close my account if they did not help. "Magically" Paypal sent me an email stating that my account would be credited the amount, and it was greater than $1,000.00 that was in dispute.

I would contact E-Bay and see if there is anything they can or will do. Is the person still selling things on e-bay?

e bay has a dispute section that allows to file a claim if the part is not what they said it was, Good luck with that,

If you paid with a credit card, file a case ASAP. Also, contact the FBI's Internet Crimes division http://www.ic3.gov/default.aspx.

I had the same thing happen with a hatch I "bought" many years ago from a guy in Colorado Springs. I reported him to every police department, FBI, Paypal, Ebay, and my credit card. I got the money back, but it took a few months. I also posted his name, phone number and email address here. The board members were great about calling him at all hours of the night and sending him emails. I think he was truely scared, but I don't think he ever had a hatch to sell.

I filed with the FBI's Internet Crimes division. Thanks for the link, Bouncey! I called Paypal and they are re-opening the case. I called his police, they told me to call mine. I did...they told me to take him to small claims. I also filed a claim with ebay.

I sent him an email that I have lots of time on my hands and Im not going away...

Its not in great condition...one of the hinges is breaking out of the metal frame. If I can figure out what it is from, I will have to weld it up, prior to selling.

The paypal lady said give it 10 days and they will work on him. Then, I will have to ship it back to him and send a shipping conformation # and they will refund the $. Assuming they find him guilty.

If that doesnt happen, I will post it on ebay...even making $20 is better than nothin!

It was $130. He originally said $20 to ship, but when the deal closed he came back and said it would be $70 (thief). So I unhappily pain the $200 because I really need one (my hatch is actually falling apart). By then I was nervous, but never had been taken on ebay before. I thought they protected against this kind of thing. Im learning a lot.....

You never did say, but is the item what was pictured? was it the exact item from the auction? what's the link to the ebay auction?

Ya, its the same item pictured in the auction..I never would have thought the pic didnt look like a blazer hatch until I took it out of the box and thought, is this steel? And then I thought, this thing is TINY! I realize its also my fault for not recognizing the difference in the photos. Thats why I offered to pay for shipping back to him...no luck.
