There are several 47-59 trucks/ parts listed the last few weeks.

looks like Sal did the same.I been working on the 4 link setup inthe rear,but need to finish up on my core support and bumper brackets.Sal I like how your came out,can you post some more pictures and and info ?

That one will work,it is a front steer unit. the older Nova's were rear steer.

I can't take credit for the pictures I posted,that work was done by a friend of mine on his 57 1/2 ton. I hope the work I'm going to do on my 53 will be half as nice

This is my 53,I started it around 10 years ago. I have a 74 Nova on it and a Nova rear end.I put a tilt out of a Cavalier. My goal is to redo it and make it into a roadster pickup. First I have promised my wife that her 64 will be safe to drive long distance.

very sweet looking truck, i love this body style...here is my truck i just purchased back before christmas, it will be about as low as yours is when im finished.

I did one on my 52 GMC. it worked out well. The 55 -59 or so are a lot easier because of the frame width.

Here is what I did on my 55 big cab.
similar to Sal's 55 Chevy I agree its cleaner than under the frame.
the ride height seems to be OK as well. I have a camaro rear end going in this week with stock springs in the rear it should ride great.

I also did mine the "NoLimit" way. The dvd is a good investment! They make it very simple. I road tested mine last week and LOVE IT! rides great and stops great! All of my progress is in the link at the bottom of my post.

I currently have a 73 firebird subframe roughly in place on my 59 apache project using the luxe blue method and I'm looking to make sure I have it centered/line up correctly before tacking it in place. Anyone have any tips for making sure the sub is lined up correctly with the truck frame? What points on the truck and sub can be used for making cross measurements? Also, what kind of wheelbase is most common when doing this and dropping the front? I've seen most like to move the wheel forward about 1-2 inches. I'm about 2 now and thinking I may go to 1.5 or so after I set the ride height where I want it.

I have done many of these.... mostly 70-81 Camaros but also a few Nova's.


The only issue is if you want to lower your truck (47-55 1st) you will need to narrow the control arms or buy them from Fatman or some other vendor that sells them
