Pickups, as I understand, is an american invention, and it's yours marks "1/2, 3/4 ton" - we don't have any specification here, only trucks' carring capacity. The ONLY real pickup was produced from 1939. GAZ M415, but anyway it was on FORD Model B base. USA was allways pioneer in car-manufacturing, so it's should be surprice. Here is some pics: |

That's a neat little truck! And that's a nice find, I didn't think there'd be C10s in Russia, they seem like a rarity.

Alot of determining if a 6.2 is junk or not is during starting the engine. Alot of the engines get destroyed by people using starting fluid on them. If the engine starts easily and does not smoke when its warmed up you have a good 6.2 diesel. I was about to swap a used one into my pickup and this is what some 6.2 enthusiasts told me to do. The stalling problem could be something easy, I seem to remember something about the timing chains stretching out and messing with the fuel timing. |

Re: Chevrolet Silverado RUSSIA need help
Another thing that destroys the 6.2L is a bad harmonic balancer. The rubber on the harmonic balancer only lasts about 10 years before it starts to crack and degenerate. If it were my 6.2L, I would replace the harmonic balancer with a Fluid Damper. The 6.2L is susceptible to bottom end failures and it helps to get things as well balanced as possible.

Re: Chevrolet Silverado RUSSIA need help
if i were you i would do some homework and call some american parts companys like LMC TRUCK and CLASSIC INDUSTRIES, ORIGANAL PARTS GROUP (OPG) and such and see if the can ship parts internationaly to you and what that cost would be, as im sure you would be interested in fixing it up right?
