Re: Project Green Acre Build
Hedman hedders are installed! They had to come on and off a total of three times - so i definitely got the hang of it. It was really an easy fit with those hedders. Didn't have to remove the starter or loosen a motor mount. The only thing I had to change out was the spark plugs as the normal length NGK's i was running were too long once the heddres were installed - so off they came again and I installed Accel's header plugs, which were quite a bit shorter and fit perfectly. Once i did that - my old ignition wires were too loose so i bought a custom cut kit and installed some 8mm Accel wires all cut to custom lengths. Truck runs and sounds great - it goes to the local exhaust shop tomorrow to have the Flowmaster C10 kit installed! I am so stoked to finally get this truck sounding right as i've been running on a rusty exhaust with stock manifolds since i got it - and straight open header for a week now
I'll upload a video once I get the flowmasters installed incase anyone is contemplating this same hedman/flowmaster set up on their SBC. Side note: the original engine tie downs that i was questioning earlier did not fit after the header installation. Really hoping I don't start breaking motor mounts left and right...
