Re: What's your Winter Goal?
It's funny how time flys and goals change.
This winter I'm finally doing the auto swap.

Clean out the cab, re glue the door seals, install a new glove box latch and close it.
Maybe install floor carpet. |

Re: What's your Winter Goal?
Weld my rockers on to finish the cab. I'd like to finish painting the frame and do front/rear disk brake conversions along with lowing it. Ultimate goal would be to have it running by spring but don't think I'm going to hold myself to that. LOL

With the hopefully soon new job, everything drivetrain related. Plus getting my next project in clear and maybe moving my race car out of storage to my house.

Duallyjams ,you had to mention that 4 letter word didnt you ? I had to work 33 hours straight last winter on our university campus shoveling snow and spreading ice melt and really dread it this year .I hope we miss all that crap this year.

Re: What's your Winter Goal?
Reassembly, again. Paint is done except for the stripe on the sides, I am waiting till its back together to do that. I had it altogether earlier this year then blew it completely apart to paint it. Now it needs put back together and everything realigned. It sounds simple enough.

Re: What's your Winter Goal?
Winter goals that have to be completed before first car show of next year (Feb.)
1) lower truck, 3 front/5 rear, and rebuild front suspension 2) add power brakes, new brake lines and do an all around brake job 3) wood bed install 4) install new stereo and speakers 5) weld passenger side floor board and rocker, then sound proof the floor 6) new upholstery on bench seat 7) new glass all the way around 8) put 22" transport wheels on Then I'll be happy with where I am at. I have most of the parts just a matter of getting the work done. 4 months to get it done, let's go. |

Re: What's your Winter Goal?
Just pulled the bed off my 64 lwb last night. I plan on getting the frame cut down and welded for the shortbed conversion. Also, my buddy is is giving me a 350/350 combo to replace my 292/4 on the floor. Busy winter!

Re: What's your Winter Goal?
Install new suspension parts (all shocks, rear lowering springs, drop spindles), front disc brake conversion and power booster, new tires and a couple trim pieces painted. *SHOULD* look like this by spring...
Also need to get the old single barrel rochester carb reliable again

Re: What's your Winter Goal?
Get my drive shaft shortened, painted and installed. Start doing body work on the cab. And order more parts. By that time Spring should be here and I'll start painting. And for the GMC I plan to have dual exhaust installed. 2.5 inch exhaust with flowmaster 40 series mufflers. And keep driving it!

Re: What's your Winter Goal?
My winter goal (here in Phoenix Arizona) is to finish my 68 dually project. Sell my 67 Chevelle to free up extra funds (and garage space), finish my 67 Nova drag car, and get going on my 63 GMC S.B. project. Yeah, we survive the summers here so we can crank it full blast during the beautiful winter months.

Re: What's your Winter Goal?
Perfect thread, I've been thinking of this for the past few weeks. Goals are
1. Fully seal up cab with all new rubber and install sliding back window and new windshield. 2.bolt my bed down completely instead of carpentry clamps and a vice grip....don't judge iv been enjoying driving it to much haha. 3. Straighten body lines out. (Adjusting panels). 4. Possibly install new front axle with 4:11 gears and modern steering box. 5. Install my new to me lift springs. 6. Drive the wheels off it. 7. Pat myself on the back if I get even one of these things done.

Re: What's your Winter Goal?
Winter is gorgeous here in Chandler, AZ and I plan to finish my chassis on my 64 short stepper (incl engine and trans), get the cab painted and mounted, and get the rough wiring done (engine, inside cab, etc...)
