van tilt column
what all is involved in installing a tilt steering column from a van. will all of the regular tranny linkages work with it? I've heard its exactly the same just a little bit shorter but i thought i would ask and see what everyone had to say. thanks, steve

check the FAQ's section. you will have to take the intermediate shaft off your old column, shorten it a couple of inches, change the wiring harness (or buy an adapter) and install

I got a very good "how to" off of GMC Paul's website. it walked you through exactly what you had to do, and had pictures.
Good luck David

highboy, since you have a 67, you'll need to locate another piece off of a 69 - 72 truck before you can do it.
In 67/68 the column was not a colapsable style, you have a solid shaft from your steering wheel to your gear box. In 69, they chainged that. You'll need the intermediate shaft off of a 69 - 72. |

I agree with that , you will need later intermediate shaft earlier ones don't collapse. the connector you willl find on the van probably , some trucks had them some diddn't . or you can buy new
