LT1 in a 4x4
Has anyone put a LT1 with a 700r or 4l60E trans in a 4x4? What trans will work the best and easy to install? How much of the frame needs to be notched with the Camaro LT1? Is it best to use the factory wiring harness or buy a new one? Thanks for any information. I have access to a real cheap LT1 but I want to know what I'm in for as far as a conversion.

I can't answer your question, but may try over on the engine/drivetrain folder, sometimes get faster answers????

LT1 not in a 4X4
I have one installed in the 67 I have been working on. It is with a 4L60E. To see how well it fit with no cutting, do a search for Wootdog's Bad AZZ project posted by Randy70C10. Kerry

Wootdog Do you have it running yet? I f you are using a 4l60E how do you have your speedometer set up? Mechanical or electrical? Did you use a corvette lt1 or a camaro lt1?

Sorry to butt in...
I am using an Autometer 5" Monster Electonic Speedo. It connects with factory sending unit. $189.88-Summit....

Its easier to go electrical but if you want to keep the stock speedo then there are options to put in a cable driven box such as the Cable-X.

I will have to look at it closely
My brother had street and performance put in a mechanical speedo gear on the side. I have not run the speedo cable to it yet. Kerry
