O/T but a CV joint Question

My buddy has a 00 Chevy caviler and when he turns the wheel it makes like a poping sound near the wheels. More noticeable at a stop. I said it was the CV's, he had it checked out and the guys said they were okay come back in 50k and we'll change them. I don't like to ride in the car because it doesn't sound good and my buddy doesn't care bc his car guy said it was okay. Could anything bad come from a worn CV joint?

Thanks

Sounds like you need to change the CV joint or just replace the whole axle shaft would be easier. Worst scenario the joint will let go and the axle shaft will be flyin around doin some big damage.
