New board look
How does everyone like the new board? At first I didn't like it but that was because I always instinctivly dislike anything that gets changed after it is set in my pattern. Now I love it!
BTW - Most of the pics aren't working.

The jury is still out for me...as of right now it seems too "busy" for me. But I will get used to it, and more than likely will like it more...just might take some time.

OK, now I'm going crazy How do we change the title under our screen name? I never changed it before and I was a "senior member". Now I am back to a "registered user" . That has to go. I looked everywhere in my user cp and can't find where to change that at

I'm on several boards running theis software and this is the last to put in the latest update. I'm use to it already. THere is a LOT that can be down with this softwear inreguards to appearance.
Here are two other boards running it. www.airstreamforums.com I like the linked photo albums. It's nice because you can link from your album but it is a server hog. I also like the "home page" that you first come to. If you hit the button marked forum it gets you to the start point this one goes to. That feature would probably not work here sice this is such a busy forum. www.pirate4x4.com/forum also runs this software. It's set op closer to this. Give it time. it works very well and it speeds up the board. Let some of the settings get adjusted as well.

Looks good just need the quick reply box back.
Okay how the hell do you change your avatar? Looks like I can only delete it and not change to another one? Last edited by Izzy; 05-03-2004 at 09:35 AM. |

Guys just give it a few days. Right now its just basicly up and running. vBB3 has alot of neat user friendly options. Josh posted elsewhere on the board that he spend 2 days working on this for us, and will add back in alot of what we are use to as he has a chance in the next few days. N2 in user cp you should still have the option to change your user title , look in user cp under profile and custom user title i believe.
I know change is hard to deal with at first , but most times change is good and for our benefit. I'd encourage everyone to think about how much time and effort has been put into the changeover and in keeping these forums active for us. This is not meant toward anyone who has posted here , elsewhere on the board there have been complaints etc. IMO we should all think about what we are saying before clicking the lil submit button. I'm sure most do not mean to sound as harsh as they come across, but alot of comments sound like a slap in the face to me. Maybe we can do this instead, start a new board look thread. Start getting all the questions together in one spot , so they can be answered easily. Kinda like a FAQ thread? |

Hay I found out what happend to the pictures I think.
When I went to upload a picture that had been loaded here before I got a message "File Already exists" and it gave a link to the post where it is. It looks like the new software has cleared all the duplicate picatures to save server space (good thing). If you just follow the link the to that post you can hit the properties feature in the borwser and it will give you the URL where it is stored in the system. You can use the link in [IMG ] format (the icon with the mountain will do it for you).

Well, so far, I'm not impressed, since 90% of the images posted don't show up. I'm running Netscape 7.1 on 2000 pro with broadband.

Well, I'm kinda new to the board, so I don't guess I'm really used to anything yet. I like the new look.

Board looks alot better! More of a streamlined look.
As for speed and features, I'll have to check around..

I like the post preview. Put your cursor over the topic and it gives you a preview of the post. Might save some time.
I don't like that there is no quick reply box. And the quick links that were at the top of the old board are gone.
