I just bought a 87 1 ton SRW, 454, 4 speed, the manifolds are warped and i am going to buy headers. What are the best kind and where to buy them? Thanks for any help. New guy just got on today.

I bought Hedman Elites for my 78 454 from Summit. They have a nice thick flange and are ceramic coated. But you might also consider the Edelbrock headers with the emission stuff on it since you have an 87 which probably requires it to remain legal.

If you want the best, buy Doug Thorley or Gibson Performance. Expensive, and you may have to wait while they make them to order, but they are worth the price.

I believe both can be ordered through Summit.

actually, it doesnt say it was a K30, so it could be a C30 as well, still not much emissions.

i used the cheap-o summit ones, they came with bolts, gaskets, and reducers all for under 200 bucks, i have 1 3/4 primary into a 3inch collector, after running them about 30 minutes the paint does come off but its just as easy to get them shipped off for some one to ceramic coat them...im going to do that once i get some 2 inch primaries on a 3 1/2 or 4 inch collector
