Harmonic balancer
Will a harmonic balancer from a 305 work on a 350? Is this bad?

It will work, I dont see anything bad happening from it. Just as long as its good and not slipped or something it will work fine.

It should work, since both are small blocks and are the same block.

Timing mark on damper may be different. Not sure though, something to looking into.

Yep, Eddie's right. As far as I know, all the 305's had the timing mark at 12:00. You will need to find true TDC and make another mark if you are using a timing pointer at 2:00. Also, I'm not real sure a 305 dampener will dampen harmonics like a true 8" 350 one. Personally, I wouldn't mess with it.

The timing chain cover I'm using is from the same motor as the harmonic balancer. So the timing should read correctly, right?
