It's a Dana 44HD. It's pretty much the same as a regular 44, but has thicker axles tubes, bigger hubs, and Im know there is more, but right now I cant' think of what they are. Those numbers don't really mean too much, the ones that you need are on the long tube, facing the front of the truck. It will have a 6 digit number followed by a single digit, then the year, 603455 8 9 7 3 being semptember 7 1973. I have the same axle in my suburban. Just go to the parts store and tell them the year, and they can get brakes for you. I think they are the same as a later 44.

Take the 6 digit number b454rat listed above and run them on this site..
http://www.drivetrainsuperstores.com/
It will tell what year and trucks they came in

Do you just need rotors/calipers and pads? If yes, just tell them you need parts for 73 3/4 ton 4wd chevy. The rotors/calipers are the same. The ones on my 71 would work. There is a difference between the 3/4 ton 10 bolt and 3/4 ton dana 44 calipers (the 10 bolt has a metric fitting).
