Best Bed Cover
What is the best bed cover out there for the money? I know there was a couple of companies thrown around in different threads, but can't seem to find what I am looking for.

I hear Gaylord is a good way to go. I remember hearing of a place out of Tenn. that had good lids, and even better prices. Has anyone heard of "craftec" lids?

I was looking around at Gaylord too for my 69 Chevy Camper Custom 3/4 ton. WHen I called them they said they do not have anything that would fit my truck. SO I just stopped looking there.

They have 67-72 lids, whoever you talked to must have been yanking you.
I saw a Gaylord on a truck in Indy last weekend and it was very nice. http://www.gaylordslids.com/applic_t...p#anchor889337

I got Checkmate to make me a fiberglass cover many years ago. I have filled stake pocket holes and the cover lays flat. You don't even see it from the side. It is still on my truck and in great condition. They must have kept my measurements. I see them advertised in truck magazines all the time. Good cover. Cheap!

Piano hinge across the front. "T" mold trim around the edge. Approx 1" - 1 1/2' thick. Lightweight. Came with locks, but I never put them on. Checkmate is in Kentucky - I think. (crs syndrome) Cost was abot $300 ???????

The Gaylord lid rolls over the side of the bed and the tailgate, locks down tight.
Bought one for my 70 Chev 1/2 ton.

I just found a place on the web selling the Gaylord lids for our trucks for $800 . I didn't think they would be that much. Does that seem right to any of you who have bought one?
