2WD Blazer suspension pics....

Anyone got them??? Did they have coil spring rears or leafs?? If they are coils, are the trailing arms shorter than truck trailing arms?? I have locater a 4WD frame and will convert the new frame to 2WD drive and then simply swap the body onto the 2WD frame. Later, FCG

i don't have pictures but the suspension uses the same trailing arms and coil springs as pickups and the same front suspension as 2wd trucks

A REAL 2wd 69-72 Blazer will be trailing arms with coils. 4x4 were leaf.
in 73 and up everything went leaf. funny thing is its the same spring for 2wd as 4wd just different spring mounts.

Maybe these will help...I saw this at the Texas Heatwave and poured over it for probably 20 minutes! The guy said it was a 72.

Yeah, that's a big block in there. I didn't ask what brand of headers they were, but the guy said that he would be swapping them for "shorty' Chevelle headers (for ground clearance).

Also, notice the trick stainless steel alignment spacers on the upper A-arms. I thought that was pretty slick.

All GM's have shims there. That's how you adjust the Camber of the wheel. Camber shims are UGGGGGGLYYYYYYYY. What they will have to do is once the truck is assembled they need to decide a "Normal" ride hight and then get it allignend with shims. Once aligned with the shims then they can measure the shim thickness and cut those spacers to that measurment. Then replace the shims with the spacers to clean it up.

ok, let me start by saying this, the frame on a 2WD and a 4WD is differant. The 2wd frame curves in where it crosses with the trailing arm where the 4wd frame is straight where it bolts up to leaf springs. a 2wd swap using factory trailing arms is not possible! you would have to swap frames with a 2wd blazer or jimmy or cut and shorten a pickup frame. or lower it with leaf springs and shackles, or do a custom 2, 3 or 4 link in the back. Other than that the front suspension needs to be swapped with a 2wd crossmember and all the stock suspension should just bolt up to that.

grim reaper is dead on the shims. Those shims on the guys upper control arms are to correct the negitave camber you get when you lower or bag a truck. I have never seen shims like those before and they are pretty sick looking. I might look into fabing a set for my burb.

Yes, I posted a thread asking that exact question and another board member blew the picture up real big. It says Hedman on the tag.

They are very nice and look to fit much better than the Hookers I had for my big block truck.

Yeah but like Grim Reaper said they will work until he get it aligned. That's the same method we are going to use for my 82 Blazer with a Scotts IFS in it. They send you a stack of washers to set the camber with We decided to get the alignement correct using the washer then machine an adjustable spacer to replace the ugly stack of washers....
