Identification questions
I am new to the board and have some id questions. Today, my Dad's 1971 Custom C-10 was delivered to me. My Dad always called it a 1971, but it appears to be a mut. The repair receipts in the glovebox list the year from 1968 to 1971. The VIN # and model # in the glove box correspond with a 1969. The grill and hood appear to be 1971. I know my Dad replaced the cab on the truck due to rust, which would explain the model number. Unfortunately, my Dad has passed so I am trying to figure this truck out from scratch. My question is this: Are there other places on the truck and/or engine that have model numbers or other identification numbers?
BTW, this truck is awesome. I will try to post some pics later. Great site.
