Got my cargo panels in!!!

They aren't finished yet- still need to have them covered with vinyl/houndstooth, and put in the speakers and screws....but here is the wood. 1/4" plywood.
A friend of mine did them for $50!!! He works with wood and also left us the templates...
Last pic is of the plug-in on the singlewall top...What have you guys done to make this look better- doesn't look to clean right now.

Looking good. I like the origanal plug but if you dont I would remove it fill the hole drill a new hoole up from the botom and threw the blazer bed side and then you wont see it at all every thing will be covered buy your new cargo pannals. thats what Im going to do with mine if I cant find an origanal conector for the blazer Im missing the conector that goes from the blazer to the top so Im going to use one for a boat and drill a 1in hole threw the bed rail and the bottom of the top to run the new wiring threw.

Earl- I have the orig. connector- came with the top, but I don't think it looks to cool....just wondered what everyone else is doing for that.

Might try some of the colored wire loom, to dress the wire up. Maybe a blue to match the body color????

Diane, since you don't plan on removing the top again, Why don't you remove the plate and run the wires down throght he bottom of the top & through the bed side. Just hide all the wires behind the panels?

I always thought the factory connection looked a little like an after thought and home-made.

Ahhhhh no! why's the top "stayying" on? I hate mine and DO NOT want it back on!

I tore out the original bed cargo cover deals and threw'm in the trash! Nah nah, they were pretty beat up and cut (speakers) anyways. Once i tore those out, i took the roll bar out
(with the top still on, this was in winter - i'm sure one of you has done it, what a trick! and that's just getting it out!)
and then i stripped the whole bed interior pretty much. Pulled the rug,foam and rubber stuff...cleaned and DA sanded the 33 years of crap and dead animals out the back. Oh yea about 1465.2 spent 22 and larger bullet shells. Think the P/O was into spot lighting or what?!?!?!

Hmmm what else? Got some Zolotone, etched and then sprayyed the back, not too thick(Not enuff $$) - and i say this because i haul ALOT of crap around and it held up good but is starting to scratch. Nothing a litttle black rattle can paint wont cover temporarily for cosmetic reasons.

My bed is pretty bare. However, the tops off so it doesnt get any hotter inside, and in winter it doesnt get too cold here also so, it doesnt make the truck feel too cold. I guess when the tops on it can be a little more louder and echo-ey then wanted, with out anything to absorb the noise. I dont loose any A/C through the bed in summer 'cuz, i dont have a/c!

This shows my naked un-covored bed sides and black liner. Roll bar in matching paint(liner). check out my snazzy carboard bumpers for my currently un-bolted in roll bar! (and missing drivers sun visor )

Keep the plate there,it looks cool.
Tap into those wires from the back and feed them down in the top and through the bedrail.
They'd be nicely hidden then.

TnblazerK5- sold the winch out of the bumper-to pay for some of the work on the blaze....
71 blazer CST man- I have two kids and they don't like the wind They are only 3 and 5 now, but when they are older that top is coming off!! It is actually pretty cool in there with the top on but no hatch or side windows- I would actually recommend it! Keeps the wind down at high speeds, and keeps the sun off of your head (bald head for my hubby :p )
Luv2xclr8- We had a friend in the boat building business hand sand and fix our top- it is PERFECT- we love it! He did it for a cheap price and told us not to ever recommend him to anyone else- he hated doing it! To much work he said- Even had another guy offer him $1200 to do his top and he said NO! WTHeck!
I think I will keep the plate there and put the wires down thru the top----maybe I will just touch up the ugly green color on the sticker
Got the power brake booster in the blazer yesterday and it is a world of difference- drums all around, I am hoping they will still work just as good in the winter with all the rain around here!

Those look pretty good I used chip board for mine I am gonna use some thompson's weather seal on em and then carpet them...
